Virtual Relationship - How far would you go?

Of late, i realised that most people want to be with the ones they love. again, being in love can be complex. Not all people love you back. Here, in my virtual world, i will create that special person for you. Looks, clothes, style etc all similar to the one you love. The only difference, this bot is controlled by a real person working in a call center. A support center which has people 'acting' for its customers... caring for them, loving them and healing them.

Now most of them will start arguing, "wtf about real people? We prefer real ones than a Bot controlled by some outsourced support girl / boy" and "what if this bot drives a real person to suicide by being unavailable?" or "what if they leave jobs and your love is gone?" or "what if the bots (backend support) fall for these so called customers and come out to be with them?"

Well, thousands of questions and thousands of justifications for it to exist. There are immense benefits too. Like physiotherapy... We can help depressed and mentally challenged people. Moreover, think of this... why virtual worlds have to be of people? How about simulating colors... sounds and vague abstract forms that align with a state of mind and help challenged people co-ordinate or co-relate to gain better control on body?

If the idea sounds dangerous, then let me tell you that this is not new. If you are depressed, what do you do? Most people go for counselling or write to agony aunts. They help them by giving a good explanation and logic. Or most of them consult expert psychiatrists / doctors etc. My concept is no different. Just that it is more long-term. More close.

You take an account and create your character. The one you love the most. A call center professional (A doctor / expert psychiatrist or a counsellor) talks to you through that person. Regular sessions / case studies will help people overcome depression and also think positively.

Again, this is not a doctor / patient relationship. It can extend beyond, where they can talk for hours about general things as best friends. I know in between you are thinking of issues like sex and other intimate moments. Here, the person will be reminded that the relationship / existence is virtual and the system design will take care that such boundaries are not crossed to take it to another level. But it will not stop the person from being in love or expressing it to the "bot" (robot / software 3d character that is controlled by a person).

The only idea is to start something that has to do more with mind and interactions than just stupid purchasing of land and virtual assests online. Something that will help people heal, think, learn and change for good. This concept will have its own ill-effects and sad turn of events in due course of time. But then in the end, i promise that we all will stand to benefit the most.

The concept is at a very nascent stage. Your views / brickbats and opinion is welcome!
